Lechazo of Castilla y León is a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) created in 1997.

It brings together 483 farms of all cerealistic regions of Castile and León, marking more than 167,000 lechazos per year.

The headquarters of the Regulatory Council I.G.P. is in Aranda de Duero (Burgos).

In the Duero basin is called lamb breeding sheep still breast. Feeding the lechazos should be only breast milk.
